A bit of my Hair History…
After 20+ years of experience and great foundations, I finally decided to make the change and go out on my own. To blend my most favourite passions and live life joyfully and authentically.
Prior to this wonderful new beginning, I have with gratitude held position as Creative Director, Parlour salon group Colour Educator, Style Director and RTO Educator within the Parlour Hair Group, Adelaide CBD, over a split 10 year timeframe with many opportunities.
In 2016-2017 I had the experience as Guest Artist within expanding salon group Cristian DeVenezia in Avellino, Campania, Italy. It was a wonderful experience and really took me out of my comfort zone while learning the Italian language… Imagine that! Prior to Italy, I spent a year in Sydney working as Technical Colour Specialist, Dual Stylist and Educator within the progressive Prema Hair Group, Surry Hills and Bondi Junction. The time before starting with Parlour Hair in 2010, I worked for a salon hair group called Gauci Haircare which used to stretch all over Adelaide with multiple branches. That’s where it all began for me, as an apprentice in my late teens. Within the company, I studied and accomplished 2IC management position within their North Adelaide branch.
With these many years of experience and expanse of knowledge, I joyfully and meaningfully share it with others, including my clientele. I have spent years teaching apprentices and full -time students in registered RTOs. I have taught staff as ‘head Educator for Colour’ in the salon groups I’ve worked across two states. For Parlour Group most recently, I have been teaching, polishing and upskilling new staff and apprentices on regular intervals.
I feel that it is not the end of my journey for teaching, and would readily seek the challenge to train salons or in RTOs in addition to my work, in the future.
So far in my Hairdressing career, I have been blessed with many opportunities such as
Styling for artists, theatre and stage-work.
Creating, colouring and teaching industry workshops (here in Adelaide and around east Australia),
Platform presentations and soirees.
Colouring for 2012 Hair Awards entertainment Sydney,
Styling and colouring for Sydney Fashion week,
Colouring hair transformations for Australian Idol and other TV programs,
Trialling and introducing new colours to audiences,
Developing colour training programs,
Teaching and nurturing new staff and apprentices,
Being able to teach, learn new language and work overseas.
